Pratt Lecture

The Pratt Lecture was founded in 1968 by Memorial University of Newfoundland and Labrador to honour the life and accomplishments of the Newfoundland-born poet E.J. Pratt (1882-1964). Given annually by a writer of national and international reputation, the Lecture acknowledges excellence in poetry, prose fiction or non-fiction, drama and scholarly or critical writing in the discipline of English literature.

Running the Goat began to publish the lectures at the request of the 2009 Pratt Committee; the first in this series was published in conjunction with the 40th anniversary of the Lecture.
