A quirky and delectable collection of 23 letterpress-printed recipe cards featuring the recipes of Newfoundland-based printers, artists,
writers, musicians and foodies.

The project, a collaborative fundraiser from the Book Arts Association of Newfoundland and Labrador, comes in a letterpress-printed envelope designed and printed by John Haney and Duncan Major. The work was done at walking bird press, Running the Goat Press and Daubers Press. Contributors offered recipes and helped with some aspect of the printing of the cards.

The cards are on various papers, and measure 5 1/2   x  8 1/2 inches.

Only 146 collections were printed, of which approximately 120 are available for sale.

Price $50. All funds go to the BAANAL, to help fund workshops, talks and presentations that promote the making and appreciation of books and the book arts.

Always GoodPrinted on Environment text, with a cover of Fabriano paper; the text is set in Fournier, the titling is Cheltenham. Folded, the poemphlet measures 6 inches x 6 inches; opened it measures 18 x 6 inches.

Figgy Duff posterFiggy Duff Poster

Printed to commemorate the Figgy Duff reunion in August 2008, this poster features an original linocut by artist Elly Cohen. The poster has been printed in two colors, and hand-tinted. Signed by the artist. Originally available only at the Silver Reunion CD launch and Writers at Woody Point Figgy Duff Tribute, copies can now be purchased from Running the Goat.

This is a variable edition of about 135 prints; most measure 15 x 20 inches.

Scottish Printing

Scottish PrintingThis chapbook celebrating 500 years of Scottish printing includes a brief introduction to the origins of printing in Scotland, a poem by James Logie Robertson celebrating the coming of the chapman, and an essay about a purveyor of cheap literature written by Isobel Cameron. It includes, as well, two reproductions of 15th-century wood blocks.

A joint publication between Incline Press (of Oldham, England) and Running the Goat, this chapbook was printed by Graham Moss and Marnie Parsons in April 2008 at Oldham. The type was cast by Harry McIntosh at Speedspools, Edinburgh. The papers are Zerkall, with a pattern paper cover designed by Margaret Calkin James. The book measures 5 x 8 inches and is 20 pages long.
